Our Services

At Momentum Physical Therapy, your treatment will be provided by a licensed physical therapist, not a physical therapy assistant or aide. After your one-on-one initial evaluation appointment, your physical therapist will recommend and schedule follow-up visits at a frequency of 2 to 3 visits per week.  We believe in continuity of care, and we will ensure that you are seen by the same physical therapist each visit, unless otherwise requested by you.  As part of your treatment plan, your therapist will utilize various hands-on techniques, in conjunction with exercises specific to your condition, to reach your therapy goals as quickly as possible.

Direct Access

In Pennsylvania, individuals can seek treatment from a physical therapist that is licensed to treat patients without a physician referral for 30 days. This is referred to as Direct Access to physical therapy treatment. Should you require treatment beyond 30 days from the start of physical therapy, your therapist will recommend you see a physician to obtain a prescription for continued treatment.

Momentum Physical Therapy works closely with physicians in the community, and we believe that a team approach to medical care produces the best results. When you come to us without seeing your physician first, we will ensure they are informed of our findings and treatment plan.

While Direct Access is permitted in Pennsylvania, some insurance companies require patients to see a physician first and provide a prescription for physical therapy treatment. When you provide us with your insurance information, we will inform you if you need to see your physician first.

Telehealth

For patients that prefer to complete their physical therapy treatment in their home, our therapists use video communication to evaluate and treat your condition. If your therapist feels that hands-on treatment is necessary to improve your symptoms, our team will discuss in-office treatment with you. Since the pandemic, most insurance companies cover telehealth treatment. This will be confirmed during the intake process when we verify your insurance coverage.
